[Salon] Fwd: Celebrating Dan Ellsberg

Title: Celebrating Dan Ellsberg
An outstanding group of articles to be read here by this group, though perhaps “dead-ender” Conservatives who still believe “we could have won in Vietnam, if only we’d … nuked them, as Goldwater and the “Traditional Conservatives” euphemistically called for, and denounced the idea of “limited war” so vigorously as that stood in the way of US use of nuclear war to “defeat” Vietnam (which would have been as a whole, and much of the rest of the world, as that wouldn’t have been “limited nuclear war” either. The Traditional Conservatives won’t admit to that as they learned they could shift blame on to the Neoconservatives for using their own foundational ideas, when hindsight proved how wrong they were during the Cold War on National Security issues, with their constant exaggerations and fear mongering, McCarthyism, etc.

The potential for WWIII and nuclear war is increasing daily. We may not be able to stop it but if we don’t try then it is probably inevitable. All life is in the balance. A strong showing of veterans on March 18 could have some impact. There are round-trip buses for only $50 from NYC and other places. Veterans For Peace strongly urges our members to make every effort to be there and bring others along. If you are planning on coming or have questions contact:
